Chickpea Flour pancake
Chickpea Flour pancake is an Indian Vegan Pancake, It is a savory dish cooked with mixture of Chickpea Flour &water, topped with onions, tomato, coriander & spices like cumin seeds & paprika powder/Cayenne pepper.
Ingredients
- 150 g chickpea flour
- 200 ml water
- 1 Onion small
- 1 tomato small
- 2 tsp green chilly chopped (optional)
- 1 tbsp Coriander leaves chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp chilly powder /cayenne pepper
- 6 tsp oil optional
Instructions
- Finely chop onion, tomatoes
- Take a mixing bowl, add the 150 g chickpea flour ,1 tsp salt, 1 tsp chilly powder /cayenne pepper mix well add water, whisk well until lumps are removed
- Rest it for 30 mins (it helps Chickpea flour absorbs water & to turn lighter)
- Now add 1 tsp cumin seeds, chopped 1 tomato, chopped 1 Onion, 2 tsp green chilly(optional) & mix well
- Switch on the stove, flame level 7 out of 10, keep a nonstick pan and wait until it is heated
- Take one ladle of batter and pour on the pan, spread it ,cook for 2 minutes,you can add 1/2 tsp of oil if required
- Turn on the other side & cook for 2 to 3 minutes
Notes
It tastes best, when it is served warm .It can also be served with tomato ketchup.
Chickpea Flour is also know as “gram flour”, it is available in Indian stores & Turkish stores. I suggest to buy TRS or Annam brand.
1 tablespoon(tbsp)=15ml
1 teaspoon(tsp)=5ml
